www.Business.Gov Goes Green

Is going Green a fad? Or is it something bigger. Bigger than us? Ever since I wrote about a franchise out of California {Big surprise there} that is franchising it’s solar energy business, I have been receiving emails from folks that want to know more about it. And..this is really telling, my posts about solar energy franchises are still the most read about on this blog. Now, the US Government…

Is starting to really take this green thing seriously. As a matter of fact, the Business.gov website, a great resource for small business start-ups, has decided to produce an entire section on starting your own Green business. The section starts out like this:

Start an Eco-Friendly Business

Resources for start ups and entrepreneurs

Having a section like this shows me that this Green thing is certainly not being looked at as a fad, by the government. This section also shows some case studies of specific green businesses, including some well known ones like Ben and Jerry’s {A franchise!}, to all of us.

New GREEN Franchise Website Just Launched!

I suggest that you start thinking about adding a Green component to your business start-up plans. Get in on this today. You will help the environment, help your future customers/clients, and even help yourself.

    Thanks for all this fabulous information, Joel. What I have noticed is that more and more every day businesses are starting to offer green/environmental products as well as information about the sustainability and ethics of their own company. For example, Exxon just recently launched a campaign to drive users to their projects on “clean energy.” Of course so much of this is “greenwashing.” What is clear, though, is that big companies are betting that “green” is not just a trend, but a serious commitment to the future.
    I wrote a short how-to guide on green marketing that speaks to this subject; would appreciate any feedback. Again, thanks for this great information.
