Well?

McDonald’s is planning on hiring 50,000 workers during what it’s billing as National Hiring Day.

Is The US Economy Really Improving?

IStock_000006711564XSmall

I keep hearing that the US economy is showing signs of improvement. But, where am I hearing that?

  • Cable news networks
  • Some newspapers
  • Some small business owners

I'm also hearing the opposite. I'm hearing some negative economic news from;

  • Local franchisees
  • Sales managers
  • Auto dealers
  • Family friends

Who should I believe? Should I believe;

  • Millionaire news anchors
  • Millionaire business owners
  • Politicians (Some millionaire's there too, by the way)

Or should I believe folks that;

  • May be on the verge of losing their homes
  • Have been out of work for 8-9 months
  • Are politicians

Do you think that I am being a "Negative Ned?"

Am I living in reality?

Are things really getting better?

You Really Want To Work For Someone Else?

Get_control

From Yahoo News-
"The Labor Department said another
450,000 workers filed new claims for jobless benefits last
week, down 10,000 from a week earlier but still at levels that
are associated with recession.

In fact, a four-week moving average of new jobless claims
that is regarded as a better gauge of underlying labor trends
because it irons out week-to-week volatility, climbed to
440,500 from 421,000 the week before.

That was the highest reading for the moving average in more
than six years, since it hit 445,500 in April 2002."

Why wouldn’t you want more control in your career? What makes you so risk adverse? Why don’t more of us take a shot?
